Product Manager, SimpleConsign
Cailin Laughlin is a Product Manager at SimpleConsign, but her resale roots go back almost 10 years. She started behind the register at a three-location consignment store in Atlanta, then worked her way into the Processing Center, managing inventory intake for hundreds of items a day (the kind of job that teaches you every SKU has a story). When she made the jump to SimpleConsign, she started in onboarding and migrations, mastering customer needs in support, and earning her way into product management, where she now spends her days researching what stores actually need and helping the team build it.
It's a career that reads like a tour of the entire industry, and that's exactly how she likes it. Ask Cailin what keeps her hooked after almost a decade, and she won't talk about systems or SKUs. She'll talk about the people: the shop owners, the customers, the regulars who become friends. She's also a die-hard thrifter herself, and when she travels, she can't resist popping into local consignment shops to hunt for merch from stores she recognizes.
Proof that she practices what she preaches: a bust of David she bought from the store she worked at still sits in her office today, now sporting a shirt and, for reasons that make sense only to Cailin, a Waffle House hat.
